DevOps is NOT a Job Description its a mindset

Organizations that use a DevOps mindset will deploy applications and capabilities significantly faster and with fewer operational issues from what the industry is reporting.  The fundamental basis for successful DevOps is a culture of trust and a feeling of fellowship. Everything starts with how people perceive each other. The term DevOps itself represents the teamwork that’s necessary for agile software deployment, but unless a company is willing to challenge its own status quo, no real benefits will result.

TheTastyCupcakes.org Software Kanban Game

This is a game used for introducing Kanban to software teams in Danske Bank. It is based on the Software Development Kanban game by Christina Skaskiw .The game sets up a simple kanban board and have teams of 3-5 players go through several rounds (similar to days) in order to have work flow through the system. The game introduces concepts such as visualization of work, work in process/progress limit, manage flow, basic measurements and retrospective/improvements.

The Kanban System Game -Free Computer Simulation

You are the leader of a workcell that manufactures four products, call them A, B, C, and D.… Each morning, the shippers come to your stockpoint and remove what they require for the day’s shipment. .. An Excel spreadsheet simulates these activities. …
The Kanban System Game is a simulation in Excel format. Macros provide a random daily demand, calculate inventory, and graph the results.

The only principle we need for becoming wildly effective at collaborative knowledge work. #AntiMatterPrinciple @flowchainsensei

(@flowchainsensei)  - The Antimatter Principle serves to nurture an environment where folks love to do good things together.
This could be a workplace – or some other setting where folks come together to get things done.  Its a powerful thing to use in ripping down destructive power structures inside an organization.
The Antimatter Principle fosters respect, attentiveness and empathy, and engenders a mutual desire to give from the heart. This is oh so simple, yet powerfully transformative.

Need to change a behaviour that is hard to change? Apply The Fun Theory

“…something as simple as fun is the easiest way to change people’s behavior for the better. Be it for yourself, for the environment, or for something entirely different, the only thing that matters is that it’s change for the better.”~ Volkswagen.  You can easily make it works in marketing as well as in education and development and more fields of interest.

Just what is a Chief Innovation Officer?

The importance assigned to innovation as a vital business process has been elevated in recent years. To ensure they stay ahead of the game, businesses must be constantly innovating. Businesses that are well versed in the best management practices can, without realizing it, generate an environment hostile to innovation. Someone who can counterbalance the natural killing instinct of a company’s business units and design a more innovation-friendly organizational environment is required. This is a big job, it aims to drive innovation capabilities to deliver better business results.
