There is no such thing as Best Practices any more

One of the most common reasons for pursuing best practices in a given area is to avoid having to "reinvent the wheel." Part of the problem is with assumptions. “If this wasn’t the best way of doing things, I’m sure it would have disappeared by now,” is a logical fallacy and an unfortunately common refrain. Advisors and leaders have to be ready to build business models that don’t necessarily have a precedent.
