Why we Argue?

“If you’re arguing with someone for more than five minutes, chances are it’s not about them or their actions. It’s about you…Arguing or fighting is a survival instinct, a threat response... Unless we are very conscious of our feelings, thought processes, prejudices, etc., then our brain automatically defers to that instinct. While this may work for animals, it doesn’t yield such effective results for us. How to argue? In a creative argument both parties are more interested in finding the truth or solving the problem than in being right.
